Anita Tong is the Director of Budgeting and Financial Analysis at World Vision Canada where she provides valuable advice on financial management leadership and business planning to all levels of management. Anita holds a B.A and a Masters of Accounting from the University of Waterloo, and a Chartered Accountant designation. Anita is an active member of her local community, volunteering as a Mobilization Coordinator for Overseas Missions for MSI Professional Services and as a leader with a local youth group organization. ELIZABETH YOUNG, B.Sc., MD, FRCP(C) Pediatrics Elizabeth Young is the Developmental and Consulting Pediatrician at St. Michael’s Hospital. A graduate of the Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Medicine programs at McMaster University, Elizabeth completed a residency in Pediatrics from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 2006, and a fellowship in Developmental Pediatrics in 2011. Her extensive experience with child health has included neonatal care, general pediatric consultations, brain injury rehabilitation, developmental assessments, as well as autism spectrum disorder diagnoses and management, among others. A member of the Raising The Village team since 2007, Elizabeth remains dedicated to helping people help themselves by connecting people with the necessary resources to reach their goals and dreams. MONISH GANDHI, B.A.Sc. Monish Gandhi leads a team at Intelex Technologies to design and develop web products. He is passionate about empowering charitable organizations through technology. He has a degree in Systems Design Engineering from the University of Waterloo and has fulfilled various roles with small and large technology companies. He brings fundraising and strategy development skills to the Raising The Village Board of Directors. SAMMY YOUNAN, B.A Sammy Younan is a storyteller, often selecting distinct vehicles to share a story. Author, spoken word artist, freelance journalist, film producer and actor, his boundless commitment to stories has created distinct opportunities since graduating from the University of Windsor with a Bachelor of Arts in English and double minor in Journalism and Religion. He’s currently living in Scarborough as a designer and co-founder of S’up Cuz a t-shirt company and founder of the online music store called The Sample Bank. Sammy offers a unique, fresh, and creative perspective in molding Raising the Village’s story. SHAWN HOLDEN CHEUNG, B.Comm Shawn Holden Cheung graduated from McMaster University in 2005 with a H.B. Commerce specializing in finance. In January 2005, he began volunteering with a grassroots microfinance organization in rural Uganda, where he worked with village leadership and communities to realize their goals. Later that year, he returned to Canada joining Accenture, one of the pre-eminent international consultancy firms as a management consultant, advising senior executive leadership of Fortune 500 firms on process design, strategic planning and business transformation within the retail and product sectors. During these 6 years, Shawn has led the development of the methodology and approach behind Raising The Village. |

| ROHIT RAMCHANDANI, B. Sc. MPH. DrPH
Candidate.Rohit is a Public Health Adviser for ColaLife, an Innovation Working Group Member at UNSG Global Strategy for Maternal and Child Health, and Principal at Antara Global Health advisors. His extensive experience in the field of public health includes position of Senior Health Adviser at the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), as well as work with the Affordable Medicines Facility – malaria and the Global Health Research Initiative. Rohit graduated with a B.Sc. in Health Studies and Gerontology from the University of Waterloo and with a MPH. from Boston University. Currently a Doctor of Public Health candidate at John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Rohit was also a recent recipient of the Georgeda Buchbinder Research Award from John Hopkins. As Public Health Adviser for Raising the Village Rohit brings a breadth of valuable knowledge and experience to the team. DR. ATIF KUBURSI, M. Sc. Ph.D. Dr. Kubursi has been a professor of Economics at McMaster University since 1981 and is the president of Econometric Research Limited, which he founded in 1972. He has acted as Senior Development Officer for the United Nations Industrial Organization and as a team leader of several UNIDO missions to Indonesia, Thailand, Saudi, Arabia, Kuwait, Sudan and Egypt.
